On The Chinese Incentive System Of Competitive Sports

The Chinese incentive system of competitive sports has seen many changes since its formation in the early period of the foundation of New China, and new era is full of new requirements, therefore, for the incentive system, keeping up with the times is of great importance. This paper presents the theoretical and practical issues on the Chinese incentive system of competitive sports through literature research, comparisons and analysis. Firstly, it interprets some related theories and based on the theoretical analysis, it analyzes the establishment and development course of the incentive system, secondly, it provides the findings after analyzing the current Chinese incentive system of competitive sports, which are as follows:Our Chinese incentive system of competitive sports is government-encouragement oriented with the encouragement from social organizations, individuals as its supplement which is still far from standardization; Our government and social organizations and individuals attach great importance to the reward of extraordinary athletes and coaches in Olympic Games, while the overmuch motivation for winning gold medals comes out negative effects for the development of sports; Diversified organizing and executing entities have been found, including government agencies, social clubs, enterprise units and so on, while the leading position of the central government has been replaced irrationally by the local governments at different levels which competes with each other on rewarding their award-winning athletes or coaches; The rewarding contents are rich and varied, and the prize money is getting increased, but the capital source is still very limited; Loophole on reward execution and distribution can still be found; Finally, this paper provides some suggestions, hoping to further refine the Chinese incentive system of competitive sports:improving the system of laws and decrees of competitive sports encouragement; establishing national sports encouragement office; reinforcing the administration of social encouragement; combining one-time reward with monthly allowance, and integrating punishment into reward; pay much attention to reward the workers behind the scene; solemnizing the government reward ceremony; performing ideological and political education to the athletes and coaches.
