As a country with long history and rich culture, China has the tradition of creating poetry. The Chinese classical poetry with different cliques including Tang, Song and Yuan poetry not only reflects the ancient social life, but also displays our ancestors'emotions. It is worth deriving the nutrition from it. The Chinese classical poetry in teaching materials of Junior High school is also a treasure that is worth deriving. It is necessary for us to study the situation of Chinese classical poetry teaching as well as the teaching strategy in the background of 2nd stage of the Curricula Innovation.The authority of this article is also the Chinese teacher who has taught in Junior High school for over ten years. This article in view of some teachers' simple treatment of ancient poetry teaching, treating the ancient poetry as dictation again and again, replacing the intuition comprehension by the rational analysis, the one-dimensional explanation substituting the multi-dimensional explanation, teaching too many aspects but not awaken by students, not manifesting the educational idea of'all for the students'life long development', inquires into some strategies for the effective classical poetry teaching. This article leads the students into the traditional cultural palace and raises the students'pure esthetic appeal and personalized appreciation ability through the effective classical poetry teaching.After analyzing the present classical poetry teaching situation, this article emphasizes the classical Chinese poetry teaching strategy. For students, it is necessary to raise their interest and motivation to full feel, excavate, and comprehend the beauty of the classical poetry through reading aloud, the imagination, the association, the sensation, the evaluation and so on. As teachers, we must give students main body status in classical poetry reading process, respect the students' personalized explanation, let the students deepen the understanding of the poetry in talk and in the interaction.The article specially stresses that students are the main body of teaching. It is necessary to respect the students'personalized explanation and lead students to read aloud and learn classical poetry in a comprehensive way. But the best way is to let students to full fee and excavate by themselves.The article finally stresses that teachers are the leaders of teaching. So teachers' professionalization is more important than teaching strategy. Chinese teachers should read more, accumulate more, form the good cultural accomplishment, and enhance the classical poetry explanation ability. If we want to completely carry out 'all for the students'life long development', we can't abandon'teachers'life long development is all'.
