At present, the fast developing higher education provides university lectures broad space for development and opportunities. However, the promoted comprehensive reform of higher education system and management system poses significant challenges to them. Facing with the society's high expectations and strict requirements of reform of higher education system, university lectures are experiencing stronger occupational stress than ever before which could affect lectures'psychological health. Researching in lectures'occupational stress and psychological health is important for lectures to alleviate stress and to improve psychological health.Using of stratified sampling method, we investigated 239 lecturers from JN University by adopting self-made"Employment Situation of University lecturers Questionnaire"and"Mental Health Schedule". Based on data analysis, I drew some conclusions as follows:1. University lectures, generally, are under enormous occupational pressure, and among which the lectures who are facing serious occupational stress account for 61.51 percent; lectures that have little stress account for 4.18 percent; lectures who are facing moderate stress account for 34.31 percent. The psychological health of university lectures is evidently lower than that in of general people.2. Based on the comparison of the difference notability of SCL-90 of different groups, this study drew some conclusions as follows: The psychological health of male lectures is lower than that of female lectures; The psychological health of university lectures that have different ages, academic qualifications, job titles, subjects, and teaching ages has no remarkable difference.3. The factors which led to psychological health of university lectures are occupational stress, individual factors and specific occupational characteristics. Correlation analysis on occupational stress shows that occupational stress is negatively correlated with psychopathic factors. Occupational stress has a significantly negatively impact on psychological health of university lectures. The key factors which led to the occupational stress on lectures are the load of researching work, little opportunity to get programs and the great difficulty in occupational promotion. Individual factors cover personality, cognitive style, interpersonal relationship, ability, coping strategies and emotion.4. Improving university lectures psychological health needs effective others-aid system and self-aid system.
