Understanding and studying College Students’ pressure, helping students to relieve the sensation of pressure, knowing the reas onable ways to deal with pressure so as to promote students’ physical and mental health, these are top priorities of today’s higher education and social responsibility. This thesis studies the psychological pressure and coping style of college students. Th e author measured 360 college students in Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology by using the method of psychological measurement. The results were analyzed based on different majors, gender, grade, nationality, birthplace and whether they are the only child. The author found out the factors that affect college students’ sources of stress and coping style, which helping students to have a correct understanding of the pressure and manage the stress effectively. This thesis contributes to improve students’ overall level of mental health. The results of this study are shown as follows:1, Seen from the difference of major, students of liberal, students of science and physical majors show significant differences on individual annoyance and learning annoyance. However, there are no significant differences in the dimensions of negative life events. Besides, the average scores on the pressure source of students of liberal arts are higher than students of science and physical majors. And students of liberal arts felt the higher level of pressure. In addition, there are no significant differences in the dimensions of coping style among students of liberal arts, students of science and physical majors.2, Seen from the perspective of gender, there are signi ficant differences in the dimensions of pressure source between boys and girls, and the average score of male students was higher than that of girls, and the pressure level was higher. There is no significant difference on the coping style between boys and girls.3, Seen from the perspective of grade, there are significant differences in the dimensions of pressure source from first year to fourth year students. The rank of sensation of pressure from higher to lower is as follows: sophomores, seniors, freshmen and juniors. There are significant differences in the self-accusation factor among the students from grade1 to grade 4, and there are no significant differences in the other 5 dimensions of coping style.4, Seen from the perspective of family, the dimen sion on only child and non-only child in personal annoyance and learning annoyance are significantly different, there are no significant differences in the dimension of negative life events, the only child feels more pressure than non-only child. There are no significant differences in the dimensions of the coping style between the only child and the non-only child.5, Seen from the perspective of nationality, there are no significant differences in the dimensions of the pressure source between the Han nationality and the minority nationality, and the pressure of the minority is slightly higher than the Han nationality. There are no significant differences in the dimensions of coping styles between the Han nationality and the minority nationality.6, Seen from the perspective of birthplace, there are no significant differences in the dimensions of the pressure source between urban students and rural students, and the sensation of pressure of urban students is higher than that of rural students. There are no s ignificant differences in the dimensions of coping style between urban students and rural students.7, Through correlation analysis, solving problem has significantly negative correlation with self-accusation, fantasy, escape and personal annoyance. And it has positive correlation with the help seeking. Self-accusation and help seeking have significantly negative correlation, and self-accusation has significantly positive correlation with fantasy, escape, rationalization, personal annoyance, learning annoyance and negative life events. Help seeking has significantly negative correlation with escape and personal annoyance. Fantasy has significantly positive correlation with escape, rationalization, personal annoyance, learning annoyance and negative life even ts. Escape with rationalization, personal annoyance, learning annoyance and negative life events are significantly positively related. Rationalization is positively related to personal annoyance, learning annoyance and negative life events. Personal annoya nce is significantly positively related to learning annoyance and negative life events. The learning annoyance and the negative life events are significantly positively correlated.8, Through a series of regression analysis, the personal annoyance has better predictability to the coping style of problem solving. Personal annoyance and negative life events have better predictability to self-accusation coping style. Personal annoyance and learning annoyance have better predictability to the help seeking copin g style. Learning annoyance has better predictability to the fantasy coping style, learning annoyance and negative life events have better predictability to the escape coping style. Personal annoyance and negative life events have better predictability to rationalization coping style.
