China, a country with the largest number of elderly population, is facing a serious situation of aging. Nationwide, the aging of population in Jiangxi Province is very grim. It shows some characteristics:large elderly population, rapid population growth, "old before getting rich" and so on. How to deal with the challenges of population of an aging population and to better promote the development of social and economic in Jiangxi Province, no doubt has became a major task of the 21st century. Vigorously developing old-age education is a strategic measure to solve the aging problem.In the past decades, education for the aged in Jiangxi Province has achieved some results, but there are still many problems. They appear:the development of aged education is imbalance; single form; narrow coverage; the curriculum of education for the aged is unreasonable, and so on. These have severely hampered the further development of old-age education in Jiangxi province.In this paper, the author uses the lifelong education theory and social participation theory as the article's theoretical support. Firstly, the author analyzes the status of the aged population and clarifies the educational needs of the elderly in Jiangxi Province by questionnaires and interviews. Then, referencing to the successful experience of old-age education at home and abroad, the author pointes out that community aged education is the development direction of Jiangxi Province's aged education. At last, on the basis of full understanding the situation of Jiangxi Province, the author proposes some suggestions and countermeasures to promote the development of community aged education.(1) The government should play a leading role in laying a solid foundation for the community aged education;(2) The communities should play an important role as a bridge to promote the development of community aged education; (3) The aged should play the main role in the aged education and self-education.
