Research On China's Education Service Trade Development

With the development of economic globalization, more and more countries start to pay attention to the development of education service trade. What's more, United States and Australia treat education service trade as a pillar industry. China's also gains great progress on education service trade within the 30 years after the reform and opening policy. Nonetheless, the continuous education service trade deficit, low proportion of coming back and competition in domestic education market etc. should be concerned. In order to solve the above problems better, this paper takes United States, Australia, Russia and India as comparative objects and comparative education service trade development status between China and these countries, and find the advantages and disadvantages of China for its further development, so that we can provide valuable suggestions for the government.The paper consists of six chapters. Chapter 1, introduction, mainly introduces the background, definitions, research logic and main contents, methodology, innovation and deficiencies. Chapter 2 is about literature reviews, which summarize and make comments on previous studies at home and abroad on education service trade. The previous scholars pay little attention to whole comparative analysis and simple method, and this paper's targets to solve these problems. Chapter 3 comparative the market opening commitments and four common provision ways of education service trade among United States, Australia, Russia and India. The result shows that the United States behaves the best, Australia is promising and showing strong growth momentum, Russia goes ups and downs, and the three countries have surplus in education trade service; to the contrary, India's education service trade stays long behind and keeps deficit for years. However, India's cross-border delivery and IT education behaves much better. Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 deal with China's education service trade status and employ SWOT to analyze the goods and bads of China's education service trade. The results show that China's education service trade development has achieved great accomplishment in recent years, such as consumption abroad, the rapid expansion of commercial presence and movement of natural persons, but with the beauty and other advanced countries still exist many deficiencies in India, and education service trade are also many worthy of learning Chinese. However, there still exists much to be learned for china from the United States, Australia, and even India. Chapter 6 performs the empirical analysis. It concludes that GDP and the Fund of government do good to attract foreign students, but the student-teacher ratio does badly. Chapter 7 is to summarize the above conclusions and policy suggestions.
