The concept of "Social Capital" is frequently used to analyze the relationship among human beings, social structures and the society. Nowadays, China is at the beginning of "Social Capital" researching. Most of the research is on village level, and Professor Fei Xiaotong is the milestone in this filed. Overall speaking, former researchers tend to treat "Social Capital" as the same way with "Social Relationship", which believes "social capital" is a sort of value-added resources. These viewpoints only focused on its instrumental value, yet failed to probe into the specific social environment in which the social capital affects.Recent years, with the development of Chinese society and economy, the changes of the industrial structure, and the growth of the workforce, the employment pressure has risen sharply. Thus, the relationship between "Social Capital" and employment enjoyed a large popularity among researchers. The thesis probes into the effect caused by the difference and sequence of social capital. Generally speaking, we want to find answers to three questions:â‘ Is "Social Capital" equal to social relationship? What are the effects?â‘¡How does "Social Capital" work? Is it an interactive process between strong ties and weak ties, or the opposite?â‘¢In which way does social capital influenced the college students most? This thesis has five parts in all:Part one:Introduction of backgrounds, which clarified the meaning of the paper, the methods being used and the creative viewpoints.Part two:Reviews. It introduced related theories such as the Marxism social relationship and employment theory, "Social Capital", Brown's systemic theories and the pattern of different social capital sequence theory.Part three:Design and presume of the paper. In this part, there are three sections. First one aims to introduce the basis of the paper, it is about how to embed "Social Capital" into the employment of the college students through 3 dynamic perspectives. The second section are presume, which are prepared for the feasibility study and conclusion. The third section is data source and sampling design introduction.Part four:Feasibility Study and conclusion. It's based on the facts and questionnaires of 500 students in DongHua University in 2010, as well as the MyCOS's employment research report towards Chinese students. The section wants to prove those presume in the Part three, and to probe the employment process which was affected by the "Social Capital".Part five:Conclusion. The counter-pattern of difference social capital sequence can help students in fixing jobs. This demonstrates the social capital dynamically embed from microscopic layer to macroscopic layer. It will be a crucial way to help college students in finding jobs and choosing careers. This paper has four creative viewpoints:Firstly, absorbed Brown's systemic theory into analyzing the pattern of difference sequence's feasibility study. It enlarged the background of the research, as we can introduce trust, interaction, norms and cyberspace into it. Secondly, we advocate a dynamic process, rather than a stationary one, thus we are going to discuss how the social capital come into being, how to maintain and enlarge it. Thirdly, according to Carl Marx's theory, the social relationship can be divided into 3 layers, and there are respectively microcosmic one, the medium one and the macroscopic one. Carl Marx's built a bridge between social relationship theory and western social capital theory. Based on this bridge, and through the use of trust, norms, cooperation and cyberspace, we present a more vivid and specific social capital theory, and make an inquiry into its influence towards the employment of university student, which has a theoretical meaning, and also affect the real world. Fourth, former researchers often focused on discussing the importance of strong ties or the importance of weak ties in the past, but this article emphasize the interactive process of those two ties. The paper referred to Brown's Systemic theory, and embed social capital theory into China's "relationship-based" social relationship network. We finally made a conclusion that the social relationships have different sequence of patterns and weak ties are crucial in the transmission process of information. While strong ties and weak ties are important in helping students fixing jobs. Job hunters usually obtain information from weak ties, just like water ripple spread outward from the center, but only strong ties have the final say in fixing jobs. So we can conclude that it is counter-pattern of different social capital sequence (from weak ties to strong ties relationship) which creates a huge impact on job-hunting students.
