Gymnastics is the main course defined by Education department sector for PE majors in campus. It is also the important content for the PE teaching in middle school. Therefore, it means a lot for sport education for gymnastics majors. But gymnastics majors need further broaden and deepen knowledge of theory on the basis of the compulsory course to cultivate teaching training and research skill. And gymnastics class in university is t he main way to train the ability of Gymnastics teachers.In order to find the shortage of the Gymnastics Training Course in undergraduate sports education in Henan Province. This article adopt document literature, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logical analysis method, etc to investigate and analyze status quo in sports education professional gymnastics courses form fifteen colleges in Henan Province. This article explores the impact of the factors and analyzes them and then put forward some suggestions to provide a theoretical basis to speed up the profession of Physical Education and Gymnastics teaching reform.The results show: 1.There is a large disparity between teachers specialized in gymnastics in education, background, professional title and research capacity, etc. And few teachers participated in professional training in gymnastics; 2.The quality of students specialized in gymnastics is low, and few students would like to choose gymnastics as their majors now. This is very worrying; 3. At present in Henan Province, the cycle of Gymnastics Class is short and there is a Serious phenomenon that gymnastics class care too much in technique than theory and Practice; 4. At present in Henan Province, the started course is in a low rate and there is no a scientific, integrated teaching material; 5. In space, equipment and other basic facilities, some universities do teaching different in a same place which lead to disturb between each other;6. The teaching ways are mostly based on the traditional in Henan Province, and the multimedia teaching hasn't formed a perfective system; 7. At present, many evaluation in gymnastics only pay attention to the result and care little about process. Besides, the testing method is one fold; 8.The extra activity in gymnastics isn't hold perfect and there is no gymnastics in the investigate universities.The following recommendations is to solve the above problems: 1. Improving the gymnastics competition system and strengthening the gymnastics-related assessment and management of certificates in Henan Province;2. Improving teacher qualifications and title structure of gymnastics specialist class, and try best to strengthen scientific research and teacher training; 3 Leaders'attention in gymnastics class and the hardware facilities of gymnastics specialist class should be strengthened. The basic quality of gymnastics students and starting rate of Gymnastics should be improved generally. The teaching material should be unified; 4. The total number of hours Gymnastics Course should be increased. And the hours ratio of technology, theory, practice should be improved; 5.Reforming classroom teaching methods and means and focusing on capacity-building of students; 6.Making assessment and evaluation methods to diversity and realize the combination of "Process evaluation and summative assessment" to evaluate students truly to improve student learning actively; 7 Making full use of the second class; forming gymnastics club and organizing Gymnastics Competition in and out of campus.
