The study carried on the through investigation and analysis of the present situation of gymnastics common course for those who major in sport pedagogic in Henan province university with literature method questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, logic analysis and the other research methods. Fully aware of Physical Education in General Gymnastics teaching content and existing problems on the basis of attribution, targeted to build up a more scientific and reasonable, with a strong practical operability of gymnastics teaching content system, to provide some theoretical basis for further deepening the reform of gymnastics teaching content. Conclusions are as follows:(1) At present, Henan province sports deportment gives priority to basic and technical things in gymnastic teaching content and care less about light instrument and practical gymnastics teaching content. (2)The gymnastics content is mainly based on the University Physical Education Professional Gymnastics, gymnastics teaching syllabus, gymnastics teaching facilities, and the requirements of Gymnastics Teaching in primary and middle schools, and the PE education specialty students the actual situation and social demand over or no. (3) The syllabus, the need of primary and middle school students, the school facilities and teaching situation. As for the student’s practical situation and school needs, it considered less. Specify the University Physical Education Professional Gymnastics teaching content is mainly based on the gymnastics teaching content has carried out meet the students’ need in basic; promote the need of students’ sports ability and the gymnastics teaching of students in practice. (4) The main problem in gymnastics teaching content of sport pedagogic of Henan province include:the cultivation of students’ innovation ability is not enough,far away from the needs of society, give priority to competitive teaching content,the action is too difficult, the teaching content is boring, the teaching content evaluation standard is not equal to the student’s practical ability. The reason are because of the traditional education concept,location and equipment limits; the teaching hours are not enough; the technical teaching content is too much; the school don’t knows the gymnastic clearly; the effect of the syllabus and teaching target; and so on.. (5) On the choice of gymnastic teaching content, we should base on the need of the middle and primary school sports; the need of students; the need of development gymnastics itself; the need of lifetime sport cohesion, the need of college training objects. Insist on the educational principle; innovative principle; the combining practical and interest principle; as well as lifetime sports for the principle.(6) In the building of gymnastic teaching content system, Composed of gymnastics teaching contents, class based technical gymnastics teaching content and practical teaching contents of gymnastics.On the basis of the above study, the frequency and weight on the basis of the experts on the gymnastics teaching content selection value selection, determine the teaching contents of gymnastics, attempts to construct a set of scientific and reasonable gymnastics teaching content system.
