| As an important part of China's Senior High School Education and foundation for social and economic development, Secondary Vocational Education shoulders an important task of training thousands of high-quality labors. As the society's opening to the outside world is deepening with each passing day, all walks of life have put forward different levels of requirements for professional English ability. Especially in Shanghai, which is striding forward to the goal of being a modern international metropolis, learning English plays an important role in Secondary Vocational School students'career development. Due to the particularity of vocational school students, how to cultivate high-quality talents to meet the needs of social economic development is a problem to be solved for vocational education workers. Based on Schema Theory, Krashen's Theory of Comprehensible Input and Communication Theory, proceeding from the current situation of vocational education and characteristics of vocational school students, and according to features and functions of English newspaper, this paper probes English newspaper reading teaching in classes of secondary vocational school by using task-based language teaching, so as to arouse students'enthusiasm for learning English, expand vocabulary and improve English reading level.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces the background and purpose of this research. The second chapter introduces the theoretical basis of this research, providing theoretical guide for undertaking research of English newspaper reading teaching. The third chapter introduces application policies for English newspaper reading teaching in classes of secondary vocational school. The forth chapter summarizes the operating principles, implementing methods and activities. The fifth chapter is experiment analysis and further discussion. This chapter discusses and analyses the findings through comparing the experimental scores of experimental class undertaking English newspaper reading policy and the one which doesn't undertake the policy. The sixth chapter summarizes this paper and finds out feasible teaching methods in this research. |
