Since the current pace of economic globalization and world integration has become faster and faster, English has become a practical skill which has to be mastered among various professional talents, especial English communication skill. However, most students of the Secondary Vocational School are poor at oral English, and they are even unable to express their ideas in simple English. Most students’ communicative competence is far from satisfaction of the companies which require their employees to have a good command of English or can communication in English. Actually, students in Secondary Vocational School are non-competitive in the job hunting; therefore, they should improve their English proficiency to make more certainty of success in the intense employment competition. For quite a long time, oral English in our country is greatly by examination-based educational system, this is the reason why students in Secondary Vocational School are poor at English communicative competence. Traditional classroom English teaching merely attaches importance to grammar items and language points; as a result, students’oral English competence is neglected. Though students have learned English for many years, they still can not use it to communicate.This thesis focus on the application of reciting input strategy in oral English teaching in Secondary Vocational Schools. The study shows this kind of strategy is effective to students in Secondary Vocational Schools who have poor English basics.The object of the study is the freshmen from Quanzhou Electronic Science School. A pretest is taken to know their English proficiency. Two classes with similar English proficiency are chosen to be the study object, one is controlling class whose teaching is regular; the other is experimental class who receive reciting input strategy teaching on the basis of normal teaching. Students in experimental class are given some articles which are filled with both knowledge and fun. Their article reciting is monitored. After sixteen weeks, posttest of oral English and writing are taken to compare the scores between the controlling class and the experimental class. And the data is analyzed by SPSS13.0. The study shows that reciting input strategy teaching can improve students’vocabularies and oral English competence. The study is fully confirmed that reciting input strategy teaching applies to English beginners and students in Secondary Vocational Schools. It can help them improve their English proficiency. While, as far as the experiment processes concerned, it is suggested that it should be put more time to choose more useful and understandable materials for students’ reciting and built and environment for their English communication.
