Elementary English education in China has long been emphatically on knowledge and intelligence but neglected the development of the students'affect. The promulgation of the English curriculum standard in China (2001edtion) has a huge impact on the elementary education. An important aspect of it is that affect education has been explicitly incorporated into the English curriculum standard and the affective general goals and objectives have been specifically defined and described. These measures have greatly changed the situation in our elementary education in which our teachers neglect the importance of the learners'affect, but draw more attention to their intelligence factors.In this thesis the write reviews the affect education at home and abroad, especially the affect education in English teaching history and current situation. Then according to English curriculum standard in China (2001edtion) the writer defines the affect from the perspective of pedagogy and psychology. Basing on the first-hand teaching, the writer presents instances of applied research on Junior English teaching environment, teaching content, teaching and the teaching evaluation of how to implement the affect education. The experimental results show that implementing affect education in the junior high school English teaching can greatly arouse the students' motivation and interest in learning English, cultivate the students'learning ability and learning will, reflected in the improvement of students'learning, students'spirit of optimism and a harmonious relationship between teachers and students...
