Reading helps in developing people's mind,enrich their emotions and activate the experience.Reading can be divided into in-class and after-class reading.In-class reading is the main battleground for teachers trying to play a very important role who gives students knowledge,tells students the way to live and answers students'questions;after-class reading is also a part of Chinese lesson however the guidance is not sufficient in daily teaching.The study is designed to put forward efficient teaching method by analyzing the current situation of after-class reading of the senior high school students and also the reason behind.The objective of the study is to bring after-class reading into the teaching plan, to really exert the leading role of the teachers, to strengthen student's reading intention,to help them to build up reading method and good reading habit, and possess the reading with capability of choosing,thinking and applying.During the teaching of after-class reading,teachers need to be always together with students.Besides the comprehensive reading,teachers also need to monitor the whole reading process.Starting from the pre-reading preparation,reading material choosing,to design tailor-made reading plan,to instruct the basic reading method and strategy, to set up reading expectation; in the stage of reading,diversified teaching activity and patterns,to activate and keep the reading motivation and devotion of the students,to open dialogue between teachers and students when there's a question,difficulty and to provide explanation and feedback, to try to keep the good reading environment, to coordinate for the evaluation for after-class reading.Based on the theoretical research,the study also integrated with the operational teaching and gave some examples of the pilot teaching method in after-class reading for senior high school students.
