Chinese word'La La Dui'originates from the English word'cheer leading', which represents a sports event from the United States. Accompanied by the music, this sports event requires athletes to accomplish the superb dancing skills of a perfect competition. It also spreads the team sprits of youth, vitality and health out before us,which pursues the highest team honor.The'Cheer leading'is a new sports event with unique charm. Because of its strong appeal and infection, it becomes popular among the youth and has great effects on the accomplishment of campus culture, the higher constitution for college students and the senses of team work. Currently, the cheer team of general university is the main kind of the existing Cheer Leading event in Shanghai. With the increase of Cheer Leading competitions, colleges accomplish cheer leading teams to join those competitions or participate in performances one after another, while the appeal of Cheer Leading event gets bigger and bigger. However, the general universities are carrying out Cheer Leading event in Shanghai and doing a good job on its promotion and popularization, which not only enriches students'amateur life, but offer rich soil, benefit the sustainable development for the development, help the selection for athletes and promote the healthy development of Shanghai Cheer Leading event.The method of literature, expert interview, questionnaire and statistics are taken in this paper, in order to study the current development of Shanghai Cheer Leading event systematically and as the base of the development model analyses of Shanghai Cheer Leading event from the general universities to offer a reference for the development of Cheer Leading event among all the national universities.The research results are as follows: 1. The facilities of Shanghai general universities Cheer Leading event are completed, which can meet the needs of teaching and training;2. General colleges all have strong teaching resources, but lack the professional Cheer Leading teachers equipped with professional instruction experience.3. Most teachers have good understandings on Cheer Leading event. But because of the lack of training and communicating chances, the implementation of each university is great different from another's;4. Students'understandings on Cheer Leading event stay at a common level, but most of them show interests in the content of this sports event.5. Currently, the system of Cheer Leading event for Shanghai general colleges is becoming perfect step by step. But the universities are fixed because of the narrow popularization.6. Teachers'professional knowledge, contents of books, competitions and communication activities, the base of student sports, grand and other facilities with leaders'attention altogether become the elements which effect the development of Cheer Leading event for Shanghai general college.7. Expending the teaching team, renewing the contents of books, innovating on the form of lessons, enriching completions and communication activities all affect the sustainable and healthy development of Cheer Leading event for Shanghai general college.
