With the deepening of our reform and opening-up, and the rapid development of our economic, science and technology, China'economy and technology are uprated more and more with each passing day, and the living standards of the people are improved continuously. What's more, especially with the sudden emergence of the mass media, and the prevalence of a variety of fire-new values and all kinds of new and vigorous life styles, the multi-cultural compatibility has become an inundant trend, in which people are coerced to, the prevalence of all kinds of the idols, which makes the idol culture become an unneglected cultural phenomenon, which is affecting our young people, especially our college students now. Because the thoughts of college students are active in mind and their natural instincts are sensitive, so they are easier to accommodate and accept all kinds of new things. Therefore, it is based on the above reasons, the idol culture influences on college students particularly.At the current state, the idol culture not only affects our college students in school, which exerts an influence on the development and construction of the campus culture, but also affects the mainstream culture and the elite culture, and even have a far-reaching influence on the cultural development of the whole society. In contrast, due to the educational pattern of the ideological and political education in the traditional education model is simple, and the educational content is more serious and old-fashioned and so on, therefore the contemporary college students accept the ideological and political education on their own initiative to be inferior. So the influence of the ideological and political education is being tested. It is based on these problems which have been thought over, and this paper dedicates itself in investigating the status of the idol culture on campus, and analyzing the origins of its strong social impact, the causes why it can be arised, the cultural characteristics and the main performance and the influences on the deological and political education in colleges and universities. What's more, trying to seting up a fundamental point by use of the above, to discuss the innovation mechanism of the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.The basic structure of the paper is as follows.The first chapter is the introduction part. In the first place, it proposes the research background and the significance of this paper. In the second place, it discusses the related defination of the concept of the mass culture, the popular culture, the campus culture and the idol culture and so on. In the third place, it describes the research status at home and abroad. At last, it explains the research ideas, the research methods and the research framework.The second chapter describes the status of the contemporary idol culture on campus.
