Since the 1980s, academic help-seeking problem has already become an important issue in western educational and the psychological research. The focus of research for academic help-seeking has transferred somehow in the 1990s. Academic help-seeking is an important self-regulated strategy for student in the school study and future success. Based on this, The research is mainly a examination of the differences of behavior in the variable of population of academic help-seeking and meanwhile the relationship of self-confidence and academic help-seeking.1,012 students served as subjects in this study, and the Li Xiao Dong's academic help-seeking behavior scale and American psychologist M.R Rosenberg formulated confidence scale adopted to conduct an investigation analysis of the high school students'demographic variable, learning results and the relationship between academic help-seeking and self-confidence, hoping to offer constructive suggestions for high school education and teaching .The results are as follows:First, academic help-seeking dimensions and total score in the gender of demography variable are of the significant differences, the girls'academic help-seeking level is significantly higher than boys'. The overall situation of academic help-seeking for high school students is tendency to teacher and student for instrumental help. But less for executive help and avoidance help.Second, there is totally no significant differences of help-seeking between senior high school and junior high school students in the stage of education. Senior and junior high school students show significant differences in dimensions of executive help and instrumental help from student. The executive help and instrumental help from student of Senior high school students is significantly higher than junior high school students'. Compared with the junior high students, The senior high students shows no significant differences in respect of help-seeking, executive help and instrumental help from teacherThere is a significant difference in the dimension of grade of academic help-seeking. The academic help-seeking of junior high school students are significantly higher than other two grades. And grade two is higher than grade one of in senior high school. The general trend of five the grades is: junior > junior middle > third > grade two of senior high > grade one of senior high. Third, there is no significant difference of the academic help-seeking and its dimensions between science and art senior high school students. And there are significant differences of academic help-seeking among high school students with different learning self-assessment. Generally speaking, academic help-seeking level is high between students with good and poor performance. The academic help-seeking and its dimensions medium of middle students are unstable, and above the average students show the lowest academic help-seeking.Fourth, the academic help-seeking and its dimensions are influenced by self-confidence of the high school students.
