Research Jiangjia Quan

As the society develops, people lay emphasis on competitive Wushu and the promotion of Wushu in a technical level, while neglecting the importance of the traditional Wushu and the inheritance of different school routines in Wushu culture. Jiangjia Quan, which is rich in content, comprehensive in technical system and famous in history, is rarely known by people contemporarily. Even worse, some parts of Jiangjia Quan have been lost in the past, it is urgent for us to take actions to protect it. Jiangjia Quan, an excellent school routine, plays an important role in Henan's traditional Wushu, it is necessary to make research of it to spread Chinese Wushu. Based on this background, as a practitioner and inheritor of Jiangjia Quan, it is my responsibility to do a study on it.Through documentation researching method, expert interview, investigation and logic analysis method, this paper have made a series of research on Jiangjia Quan. Firstly, I make an investigation of Jiangjia Quan's historical origin and inheritance chain. Jiangjia Quan could be traced back to the period between Sui and Tang Dynasties, it was first created by a Wushu coach named Jiangyong and then enriched and consummated constantly by his descendants. Jiangjia Quan was mainly inherited from the master to the disciple orally, as a result, there are few written records left after a long time. It is really difficult to make the whole inheritance chain reappear today. To be practical and realistic, there are really some parts lack of enough evidence, so this paper mainly analyses the Suns line of Jiangjia Quan which can be verified solidly.This paper emphasizes the generalization of Jiangjia Quan's technical system. Comparatively, Jiangjia Quan is rich in content and its technical system is quite comprehensive, including method, hand slap and routine. The methods can be divided into top rope practice to steady the lower part of the body, breathing practice to strengthen the neck, holding ball to combine thought with breath and stance training to integrate motion with quietness. The hand slap of Jiangjia Quan, also known as Jiangjia Quan's softening type, is a kind of antagonistic martial arts. It keeps the features of tumble, hold and throws which stem from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are more than 40 routines for Jiangjia Quan and most of them collocate with catchy verses. In a long development, Jinagjia Quan has formed the distinctive technical features of firm root, agile movement and coupling hardness with softness.Finally, this paper discusses the intrinsic value of Jiangjia Quan and outlooks its training and developing thought. It is hoped that more martial arts personages would pay more attention to Jiangjia Quan through this research.
