Analysis Of College Students' Political Ideology And Its Educational Approach In New Century

The education of political ideology is an important part which can not be ignored in college students'education. After entering new century, college students'political ideology shows new characteristics which are quite different from their counterparts before. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the new approach of college students'political ideology.Compared with ordinary adults and young people who fail to enter into college, college students in new century show the following features, including acuity in political thoughts, activity in political recognition, conformity in political psychology, paradox in political ideal, plasticity in political conception and so on. At the same time, their political attitude seems to be more open and political inclination more diverted than college students before. From these characteristics, we can know that factors which affect the formation of college students'political ideology include the teaching in political theory class, the introduction of political books and public opinion, the influence of social trend of political thoughts, the stimulation of political events, as well as political responsibility, psychology of political man and the effects of the accumulation of political knowledge.On the base of the analysis of the characteristics of college students'political ideology and their affecting factors, we can see that there are several problems as following, the lack of the knowledge related political theory, the decline of political analytic ability, the weakness of the sense of political responsibility and civil consciousness, the decline of the passion of political participation and political man's psychology, the utilization of political pursuit as well as the nihility of political belief. And all of these phenomenon can be explained by the following factors which are related to society, schools and education itself, such as the conflict between the great achievement in economic development and serious social contradiction, the conflict between the sharp increase in the number of college students which caused by the policy of enlarging enrollment and the shortage of the resource of colleges and universities, the conflict between the singularity of content in political class and the diversity of theories which are exposed to college students.It is for these new characteristics and problems that we should focus more on the exploration of the breakthrough of approach of college students'political ideology education. First, we should still insist on the importance of the theory class and introduce the inspiring education. Second, the education of social practice should pay more attention on its content and effect. This paper takes Chongqing for an example in attempt to find a universal approach in society level. Third, the role of internet played in education should not be ignored. We should make use of internet positively, establishing a internet platform of political ideology education for college students in the new century.
