Reformation of new course requests our mathematics education as well as the innovation thoughts and abilities. Meanwhile, the textbook as a teaching and educating first-hand information, but also changes with the improvement of the age. Materials by adding narration to make textbooks more rich and full, smart in the classroom to assist teaching the use of narration also have unexpected results. However, in this regard still lack the academic depth exploration. Based on this background, the function of mathematics teaching materials and the use of narration there is a considerable need for research.This total is divided into seven parts, beginning with the starting materials and the limited documentation, analysis and comparison, the material aside to do a more detailed classification, and then study the function of mathematics teaching narration. Secondly, Long Jiang Road Primary School in Chengdu, sixth grade students in the classroom behavior of the classroom observation and intuitive understanding of the materials in the classroom use of narration, and narration to the function and application of materials for analysis of a questionnaire survey. High-grade and low grade teachers and students were interviewed to understand the teaching of mathematics teachers and students the attitude aside, the level of awareness and use of narration to support teaching, response, an attempt to improve the teaching of teachers to provide a good basis and Recommendations.Overall, this paper is to answer the following questions in detail:1. Why narration to study the function of teaching?2. What are the types of materials aside, the theoretical basis of what?3. Narration embodied in the textbook materials in the classroom, the students on what are the characteristics?4. What are the specific functions of the mathematics?5. Teachers and students knowledge of the narration, the use of situation? Use of narration to support teaching, teaching effectiveness and response to what? 6. Where can a few teachers to enhance teaching materials to facilitate the use of narration in the classroom?Narration is not an accessory, but rather an extension of the text, strengthen the teaching of the narrator's use of great help. Through narration, setting instructive problems, stimulate students to think and explore and promote their own learning, access to mathematical literacy required of modern life.
