Research On JiangWei-qiao's Educational Thoughts And Practice

JiangWei-qiao has made tireless efforts in history of Chinese education modernizing. According to his educational thought, this thesis describes his opinions toward the education including the aim of education, the method of education and teachers' standard. In his thinking, he has inherited the core of the Chinese traditional culture. On the other hand, he has also learned the thinking from the west. According to the historical and culture circumstance, he suggested that school must emphasis on the physical education courses. He understood the importance and necessity of physical education to the nation. At the same time, he had encouraged the professional education and supported the education to the entire common people. He also supported the thinking of equal opportunity and fair education in certain degree. Moreover, JiangWei-qiao had carried many works in the field of education including:the publication of the text book in Qing dynasty. He was also minister of education in national Chinese. During his political career, he had encouraged the education reform at the local level. These works had significant influence to the Chinese education in the modern time.This work describes Jiang Wei-qiao' life and analyzes the formation of JiangWei-qiao' thinking which is heavily influenced by the historical and geological conditions at the time. In addition, the distinguishing feature and the contents of JiangWei-qiao's thinking are also described in this work. The final part of the thesis discusses the influence of his thinking on the Chinese education.There are four chapters in this thesis including:an introduce, chapter1,2,3,4and conclusion.In introduction part, discusses why the author selects this subject, its current study progress and defects of current studies o this subject and the author's ideas and approaches for this study.Chapter 1, analyzes four factors that influenced JiangWei-qiao'thinking. These factors are the influence of historical background; culture background; geological background and the influence of the other people.Chapter 2, describes the content of JiangWei-qiao' thinking in detail. His educational thought can be divided into seven parts:the value of the education; the aim of the education; the methods of the education; emphasizing on the importance of the physical education in school; encouraging professional education; spreading education for the common people.Chapter 3, describes JiangWei-qiao'works in the field of education. His works consist three parts:the editorial of the text book in Qing dynasty; the leading role that he had played in education reforms in the early days of national china; his role in local education reform.Chapter 4, makes objective assessment on his educational thought and practice.Ending part, summarizes his educational thought and practice.
