In recent years, acculturation model was introduced to English classroom teaching. But it didn't draw enough attention from teachers and students. And nowadays, in China, majority of English teachers were still using traditional methods to teach vocabulary. Therefore, it was difficult for students to memorize vocabulary. And they can't understand words well, it caused that they can't use words correctly and properly. This thesis tried to find an efficient way to help both teachers and students respectively in teaching and learning. At least this study can give some implications to English teachers.Through the research on"Acculturation Model"and it was concluded that the social distance and psychological distance were related to the second language acquisition. Because of tested students were far away from the target language countries the effect of psychological distance were greater. According to investigate junior school students this thesis will find out whether they have relationship or not and what was the relationship between psychological distance and the students'scores.Through the pre-test, mid-test and post-test, it drew the conclusion that there was positive relation. This result gave teachers some suggestions, in the vocabulary teaching, teachers should introduce more target culture to students and try to let students eliminate the psychological distance generally in order to improve their scores.From this study, it helped teachers adjust teaching methods and motivate students'learning interest. The students'English level could be enhanced and they could use English in their future career.
