Languge-learning itself is considered as a basical learning activity,which is to be greatly affected by the affective factors.In modern linguistics,experts think that people acquire communicating abilities through their affective factors. Affective factors are playing an important role in learning ,especially in foreign-language learning. The learners'foreign–language learning effeciency largely depends on learners'affective factors.But over a long period,the English-teaching has been focusing on knowledge and skills,while affective factors are unfairly neglected,causing students'motivation to fail and affective strategies never to develop.As a result,the English-teaching procedure is boring and dull. Meanwhile,the teaching effect is also negtive.Therefore,my study of affective stretigies in English-teaching really deserves to be done.English teachers should pour plenty of positive affection into the classes,or even get themselves involved in the classes,which will surely arouse students'positive affection in return.Besides these,teachers can finish their teaching tasks efficiently as well as achieve their teaching aims.All of the strategies that teachers make use of are called affective strategies.Affection is not only an important part in people's thought,but also in teaching as a no-intelligent factor. While teaching,teachers can not make it without affection,neither can students learn without affection.In a word,education without affection doesn't exist.Just under this situation,I choose affective strategies as my study. In the early preparations of the study, I examined a large amount of works and essays .I have got a lot of inspiration, and found support for my point of view of the theory. Therefore, the first chapter is in order to define the principles of affective strategies including the studying backgrouds ,studying meaning and studying methods.It also proves its theoretical and operational feasibility. In the second chapter,I talk about the books and essays that I have read and what other experts have found and done about affective strategies in teaching. I also went to the classes and did some research work and obtained the first-hand information on the survey questionnaires and interview results,which show me the necessity and importance of the study.In the third chapter,I focus on the theoretical basis of my study. In the fourth chapter ,I continue the essay according to three main elements of English language teaching: teachers, textbooks and students and conduct a deep and extensive analysis,putting forward seven affective strategies to stimulate positive affective attitude of students so as to improve teaching effectiveness.These strategies are based on the support of a number of teaching actual cases. In the fifth chapter, I make some suggestions to English teachers about how to employ these strategies according to different cases.In the end I summarize the present study to review the previous work and look forward to the future of the teaching mode.
