| Learning difficulty is learning disability with various causes. It has been a research topic in such research areas as medical science, psychology and education. In China, research in this area started from the end of 1980s and has been gaining more and more Chinese educators'attention.Progress has been made chiefly in studying middle school students'learning difficulty which focused primarily on cognitive factors and less on non-intellectual factors of emotion before. There are few studies on the special group of rural middle school students with learning difficulties in English. This thesis, however, concentrates on studying the causes of rural middle school students'learning difficulties and countermeasures.China's rural English quality of education in secondary schools has been poor .It has been very difficult for middle school students to learn English well . The majority of China's population lives in rural areas. English teaching in the secondary school needs to be greatly improved. And how to steadily improve the quality of rural high school English teaching during the curriculum reform stage is a very difficult task and a time of urgent need. In recent years, the Chinese government has increased the investment in rural education through the policy of the "two exemptions and one subsidy" .The investment in rural education has increased year after year. The hardware, such as the transformation of rural schools, education means and distance education in some regions, has also been increased. It should be said that education in rural China today, whether in hardware or in software ,is far stronger than the scene a decade ago, but the quality of English teaching in rural areas has not been significantly improved. There are still many problems in teaching subjects, teaching objects, teaching management, and teaching methods in rural English learning and teaching. This thesis discusses the difficulties of learning English of rural middle school students and the effective measures; It is divided into five chapters. The first chapter, introduction, describes the purpose, significance and research structure. The second chapter, respectively, involves a literature review and proposes the authers'own research points of view from domestic and overseas perspective of the research. The third chapter is the study design, which analyzes the empirical research results obtained and finds out the causes of English learning difficulties of rural middle school students. The fourth chapter proposes countermeasures to be taken based on the reasons. The fifth chapter makes conclusions-----summarizing and pointing out the weakness about this thesis. |
