With the development of times, the international competition has become increasingly fierce and the community has require more to personnel. Therefore, it is a major problem for the education section to train professionals needed for development in the new century. Basic education undertakes the important task of training personnel. The world has invested in basic education curriculum reform to meet the requirements of the times, in which history is included. This paper effectively absorbs the experience of curriculum reform in American history and lessons learned as a reference for curriculum reform in our history through middle school in China and the United States in a full range of comparative one.China has a long tradition of history education, but because off various reasons, China's history education has not received due attention. As a result, it is not only our own efforts but also the history of education in other countries to play the role of the history curriculum current situation better, to analysis trend of history curriculum reform in-depth, to recognize our history, education, history education with other countries of the similarities and differences existed, to learn the advanced experience of other countries, and to explore a history curriculum for the development of the road. However, the study of comparative education in history is still in the development of exploration period, and the research has remained mostly in the surface. This paper tries to analyze the middle school in China and the U.S. through the history curriculum development, curriculum objectives, curriculum and course content, comparative so as to reveal the history of curriculum development between the two countries and the common law, in which the trend of the future course of our history plays a role in promoting its reform.This article is divided into the introduction, the body and conclusions of the composition. The Introduction is mainly about the background of the topics, the note and significance, the research status, and methods of paper and thesis referring to the process problems and the measures. The body consists of four parts. The first section reviews the development of history curriculum history in China and the U.S. and the history of the two countries during the course of the changes in detail; The second part introduces the Chinese and American middle school history curriculum objectives which is analyzed in detail from the basic knowledge objectives, capacity-building goals, attitudes and values of target three levels with their own characteristics, obtained American curriculum goal corresponding curriculum objectives; The third part discusses the history of Chinese and American middle school curriculum in the perspective of specific circumstances, mainly from the subject and integrated curriculum, Furthermore, there are required courses and three elective courses to compare the patterns profound and analyze the characteristics ; the fourth part is about the Chinese and American middle school history curriculum whose basis is to explore the history of our school and worth learning in China. Finally, the conclusion, based on comparative analysis of the body, draws experiences and lessons in reform of the American middle school history curriculum and gives some advice for the reform in our country.
