After the middle of the twentieth century, knowledge began to grow geometrically, the mode of knowledge spreading and knowledge management underwent profound transformation at the same time. Along with the rapid development of information technology, education and learning changed quietly. Today flexible approach to learning,rich information knowledge and unblocked student-teacher interaction. Because of the arrival of the knowledge society, how to make the learners be ready for. Education of the twenty-first century assumes the responsibility and mission. Everybody who is concerned about the education should think about that.Using cognitive tools enables learners to carry out cognitive processing efficiently and to promote learners cognitive process. It is not only to plays the role of the learner perception, processing, memory and problem solving and so on, but also makes cognitive structure rich and reconstructs cognitive structure. In addition it promotes higher order thinking skills. These advantages such as expansion of learners' thinking, extension of cognition and supporting knowledge building provide an opportunity for collaborative knowledge building learning activities. This study selects concept map tool—one of kinds of cognitive tools. Because it is not only the one of representative cognitive tools. At the same time for its own properties it has been applied and popular with teachers and students in secondary school. Based on such a realistic and favorable prerequisite, this study apply the concept mapping technology in collaborative learning process, focusing on the concept map in the process to promote the process of collaborative knowledge building and providing collaborative knowledge building with operable strategies and methods in informatization environment. This study is divided into four stages:theoretical comb,present situation investigation, quasi-experimental research and evaluation analysis. After the introduction and analysis of domestic and foreign literature and researchs.the thesis expounds informatization environment,collaborative knowledge building,,concept mapping and the relevant theory. Based on the investigation and analysis about the actual situation of carrying out collaborative knowledge building activities in secondary school, the thesis introduces the one of metacognitive tools--concept map, explores the internal mechanism of concept map promoting collaborative knowledge building, and proposes the theoretical process model of concept map promoting collaborative knowledge building. Followed by these we test the effects in Nanchang Jinxian forth high school. According to the analysis of the data before and after the test and other methods such as qualitative analysis of the questionnaire, the thesis concludes the concept map application results.Studies have shown that concept mapping tool can well support the activities of the various collaborative knowledge building process, and promote the upgrading of the level of collaborative knowledge building. It can help students achieve meaningful learning, promote the exchange interaction between students and teachers and ultimately enhance learners'ability of knowledge innovation and cultivate learners' cooperation spirit and the sense of competition.
