Purpose:The goal of this research is to find the biomechanical differences in sprint acceleration with sprint shoes that with different spike distribution. Methods:One high speed video camera is used to get kinematic parameters. The subjects sprint at maxium speed over a force plate with a pressure plate on it. The top of the pressure plate is covered with a Kadang plastic. The distance for acceleration is 15m. There are three types of spiked sprint shoes and a dancing training shoe, which is used to simulate the condition of bare foot. The subjects have to run three valid trials for each shoe. The trial with the whole right foot touching the force plate is valid. Then analyze the kinematic, kinetic and pressure data. Conclusion:The spike shoe 3 is the best of the three, following by the spike shoe 1. The spike shoe 2 is the last one. It is also found that gender has very significant effects on the Biomechanical characters of sprint running.
