In this study, the research universities of American and Physics Department of Q University in China are introduced to analyse the frequency and direction of flow, the output of their academic mobility impact, respectively. Two different samples of teachers, academic mobility of institutions and academic output were compared in order to know the basic mobility characteristics and differences. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Flows in academic institutions, the U.S. sample of teachers own higher frequency of body movement.Early in the academic career, downward movement are of a large number, but with age the ratio of teachers to upward mobility increases. Academic mobility of Q University teachers is relatively in low frequency, and a large number of teachers tend to school to school proximity after graduating directly to work so far, besides most of the remaining teachers from other universities flow into the university and overseas introduction owing to a lower proportion of teachers. (2) In academic output, the United States sample of teachers are in higher academic output, and the output is not significantly related to mobility frequency. Upward mobility of teachers tend to increase academic output, while teachers who are active flow may get more output than passive academic movement teachers. The academic output of Q University teachers is relatively low, while current academic output is not significantly related to institutional mobility frequency. The teachers introduced from overseas have got higher academic output than teachers who have worked in the country.
