Students' homework is the finished work of their own cognitive ability. And it consists of students' cognitive information which are understanding ability, memory ability, thinking ability and transferring ability and so on. The pity thing is that the existed homework feedbacks just simply mark the right or wrong signs on the questions which are answered by students. However, they don't go a step further to demonstrate which section is wrong and why students can have these results. So this research aims to help teachers to get the special cognition information from students' homework and give feedbacks to students in the way of cognitive diagnosis reports, and help students to avoid the faults consciously and find their suitable learning strategies.First of all, the research takes the method of literature research to get the theoretical operations of what teachers can diagnose through students' homework and how teachers do cognitive diagnosis on the basis of existed theoretical research which is about homework and cognitive diagnosis. And then, it will take the method of case study to set examples in order to supply other teachers with opportunities to imitate and verify. And when we focus on case study, it selects N middle school in Shanghai as experimental school, and chooses some class in 8th grade as experimental object and students' mathematic homework as experimental medium. At last it selects 3 cases who have typical cognition traits. And it can according to 3 aspects to do the research, which include analyzing the selected students from researcher's opinion, interviewing the mathematic teacher and doing verbal report on selected students.Students' homework is their finished work of solving problems when we focus on it. And it reflects students' cognitive traits which are on the following aspects of understanding questions, remembering knowledge, applying knowledge and transferring knowledge. At the same time, it also reflects the students' understanding ability, memory ability, thinking ability and transferring ability accordingly. When we infer this process in the way of linear thinking, and if students do homework wrongly or can't do it, and we can ascribe it to one of these four aspects can't go further successfully.So, the cognitive problems which are rooted from students' homework firstly should be taken on the aspect of understanding. And if refers to the background knowledge, problem information and cognitive style of students, and they can lead students to represent questions homogeneously or alternatively; on the aspect of remembering knowledge, it relates the deeply understanding and systematically storing of knowledge, meanwhile, it can have an effect on the normally working of students' work memory and long-term memory; on the aspect of applying knowledge, it refers to the way of initial learning and the conditional knowledge that are accumulated after learning; on the aspect of applying knowledge, and it may lead students to solve general problems successfully; on the aspect of transferring knowledge, it refers to the deeply understanding of knowledge, getting of the common segments among knowledge and thinking positively, and constructing situational models and problem models and so on, and it can lead students to solve special problems successfully. As a result, when the researcher finds that students have problems on the previous aspects, he or she can give feedbacks which are in the way of cognitive diagnosis reports to students on time, and then, students can take their own suitable learning strategies on the basis of their own cognitive traits, and get effective learning.
