Education is successful because it's educational management & administration is successfully supporting it, and the purpose of educational management research is to identify the rules of educational management in educational practices, improving the quality of education. In the world, the historical development of educational management and reality are different, so the development of educational management researches are also have great different. There is a great gap at the level of educational management research between many countries. From the level of educational management academic research, the United States, U.K. and Australia are recognized "the top three". Educational Management Administration & Leadership (hereinafter referred to as EMAL) is a core journal hosted by British Educational Management and Administration Society (hereinafter referred to as BEMAS) in international educational management research. Since it founded in 1972, EMAL has been nearly four decades glorious history. EMAL and Educational Administration Quarterly, in the United States, are the two most authoritative academic journals of educational management and leadership research in the international academic community. This article selected research papers of EMAL in U.K. for an object of research. A study of articles contained EMAL from Vol.28 to Vol. 37 during 2000 to 2009 discussed and analyzed the contents and methods of the research articles by literature analysis in order to understand the status and trends of the British educational management and leadership in several decades. This research article is divided into four parts:The first part:Introduction. As the beginning of this research, this part gives a description of explanations the basis of this research topic, literature review, the core concept and definition of the research scope, research methods as well as the purpose and significance of this research.The second part:The analysis of the research contents about EMAL articles. This part mainly contains educational management administration and leadership research, educational management administration system research, the effectiveness and improvement research of school management and leadership, school organization study as well as educational administration policy and school management strategy research. The third part:the analysis of research methods about EMAL articles. This part revealed some features and characteristics in the use of research methods about EMAL research papers.The forth part:Conclusions and Implications. Revealed the future of education in the UK management research over the past decade, while more than two parts by the British Educational Management and Leadership research content and methods of analysis and discussion, combined with China's educational management and leadership research and thought of the relevant issues, summarizes educational management research and obtains the usefulness.
