Educational administration research needs to explore the objective laws of educational administration with the aim of seeking truth. It would lose the real significance if the research conclusion is false. Educational administration research has a great gap at the level of development between countries. The absolute strength of research effort in America is second to none all over the world. Educational Administration Quarterly (EAQ) is a core journal hosted by UCEA in 1965 in international educational research, and it is also the basic research output of American educational administration research. All of the articles published in EAQ in America from Vol.39 to Vol.43 during 2003 to 2007 are the objects of the research, and meanwhile, the articles published in EAQ from Vol.34 to Vol.38 during 1998 to 2002 are the objects of comparative analysis. The research content and research methods are the main body to discuss and analyze the actuality and direction of American educational administration research. The purpose of the research is to recommend some suggestions on the possible research content and research methods of the educational administration research. This research is made up with the following four parts:Part One: Introduction. As the beginning of this research, this part mainly presents the research background, research situation, the research content and some statement of the concepts, the procedure and methods as well as the purpose of this research and its significance.Part Two: the analysis of research content about EAQ articles. It mainly includes educational leadership research, teacher professional development research as well as educational policy research.Part Three: the analysis of research methods about EAQ articles. It gives the presentation of some characteristics on research methods.Part Four: conclusion and enlightenment. It discusses the tendency of educational administration research in America, and the enlightenment to our country's educational administration research on the basis of above research.We need to make it appropriate for our culture's root when we use American educational administration research for reference. Educational administration research is a developing concept. As the development of history, it will be transferred constantly in the future. What is the emphasis of educational administration research in the future? It needs us to concern deeply. We can find out a pattern that is most suitable to our country's educational administration development through combine learning foreign educational administration research and make it suitable for our own country's reality.
