As we know, the internet is changing from information services to knowledge services, which brings us an opportunity to study non-linear learning. As the product of education reform in the information society, non-linear learning is welcomed by students gradually. But in the non-linear learning process, we are facing the hardest challenge in improving the learning performance, that is how to integrate knowledge and resource effectively and make innovative services.The essence of education is communication, and the communication in the community is the important condition for innovation and development of knowledge. So, the research on the relationship between interactive behavior and performance in non-linear community learning will be very important for improving instructional design, making innovative services and improving the learning performance. Our aim of this study is make some contribution to the promotion of non-linear learning. Therefore, we need to find out the key elements of non-linear interactive learning and the problems may exist in the non-linear learning process, put forward some solutions, improve the learning performance of non-linear community learning, and make the learners understand the advantages of non-linear learning.First of all, we have summarized the research situation of non-linear community learning and analyzed the representation and elements of non-linear interactive community learning by literature review, and posed the behavioral model of learner and the mechanism of knowledge construction under the guidance of Complex Adaptive System Theory. Secondly, we have designed non-linear community learning process based on preliminary study. And then, we selected 53 undergraduate or graduate students from department of Information Technology in Central China Normal University to participate the non-linear community learning experiment, collected the experimental data in the form of tracing, surveys and random interviews. Finally, we have summed up the results and experiences of the experiment based on the data analysis and research.From the analysis of results, we can see that there is a correlation between interactive behavior and performance in non-linear community learning. Environmental facilities are the basic factors of improving the non-linear community learning performance, individual characteristics are the intrinsic factors, community structure and norms are the restrictive factors, and strategies are the key factors. We also put forward some strategies to improve the non-linear community learning performance based on the verification results, and we hope it will be helpful for the creation of non-linear community learning environment, improving instructional design and students' interactions.
