In the learning process, students will form a set of attitudes and beliefs about learning along with the acquisition of knowledge. Students'beliefs about learning include their basic conceptions and views about learning. As a form of meta-cognitive knowledge, beliefs about learning is an important part of previous experience of students, and studies have shown that this belief system to some extent has been guiding students in learning activities, behavior and the evaluation of teaching. Training students to form a set of correct beliefs about learning is one of the major goals of the education reform, and researches on students'beliefs about learning will provide important references for teaching and learning development. In the study,"Beliefs about Physics learning"means the basic view and conception about physics learning that students formed in learning physics. Its core part is"beliefs about process of physics learning", and the extension would involve"beliefs about nature of physics knowledge". On the structure of the beliefs, a combination of"Empirical approach"and"Raw statistical approach"was applied, and then we developed a set of questionnaire to investigate the beliefs of high school students. After analysis, we find that beliefs about physics learning can be divided into 4 categories, that is, beliefs about nature of physics knowledge, beliefs about essence of physics learning, beliefs about process of physics learning, beliefs about conditions of physics learning, and as the main part of the belief, beliefs about process of physics learning can be divided into"classroom learning state","sense making","real world connection", and"application blocked handling"as the 4 parts further at the secondary level. On the whole of beliefs of physics learning, the 4 secondary categories would be combined with other 3 primary categories for statistics.Based on the statistics of the raw data of the investigation in Shijiazhuang, we get an overlook of beliefs of physics learning of high school students, and analyzed correlation between their physics performance and corresponding beliefs, and discussed the differences of beliefs between different schools, grades, and genders. The results are as follows:The beliefs about physics learning of high school students are just fine, as they hold more expert-like beliefs in"beliefs about nature of physics knowledge","beliefs about essence of physics learning","beliefs about conditions of physics learning", but at the same time, the difference of each category is very large, in which"sense making"scores the highest and"application blocked handling"scores the lowest, indicating that the students'beliefs developed unevenly; There is low correlation between their physics performance and the beliefs, and it concentrated on the 3 categories of"beliefs about process of physics learning"; There are significant differences of the students'beliefs between different schools, especially in the 4 categories of"beliefs about process of physics learning"; There are significant differences between different grades, grade 1 hold more expert-like beliefs than that of grade 2; There are significant differences between different genders, male students hold more expert-like beliefs than that of female.
