The employement of the low-ageing elder person refers to that those peolple who are health at the age of sixty-year-old to sixty-nine year-old and can take care of themselves, engage in doing certain social work and get remuneration or operating revenue. With ageing prolbem becoming worse in our country, the emplyment of the old can be an better choice to solve these problems, such as how to make the older realize successful old age, and how to make full use of the resource of the older. In our country, the number of the old people who are in industry is less than that of the old who are not in industry. The thesis will discuss the following questions in detail: who are emplyed, who are not; the factors that affect the employment of the old, the characteristics of the old and their aims, the influence of their employment on their lives.Based on occupational categories, this study classify the elder into the community of the low-ageing elder person and social management group, the private entrepreneurs and businesses group, the professional and technical community and staff groups, business services sector and industrial worker groups. Jinan is the place of the investigation, and I choose two communities from jinan; one community is in the eastern of Jinan, the other is in the western of Jinan. From the two communities, I choose 24 the elder, and make a depth interview on them and get these results: (1) the features of the emplymen of the low-ageing elder: first, the mental work can last longer; they have a wide gap in income; the relation network becomes the most effective way to enter the professional fields. (2) their emplyment purposes are to enrich their life, to get incom, to realize their dreams and to make contribution to the society. (3)the influences of their emplyment on their life include improving their life quality and being bothered by employment. (4) factors influenceing their employment include individual factors (personality, life values, their own qualities, the accumulation capital and gender), objective factors ( the supportment of the national policies, age retirement systems that imped employment, the bad development of the tertiary industry, modern process that impeds the employment, the cognitive biases of social groups, the bad development of social organization that is not good for the employement of the old people, the community systems and the family environment.In the process of the analysis, I make a comparative analysis between defferent elderly people groups; on this basis, I put forward some suggestions in terms of state, society and community.This thesis is characterized by the following Innovations: (1) The old people are divieded into four groups. Firstly, each group is regarded as as the reference, and I make description and comparison between different groups; and on this basis, I analyse the causes of the differences; Secondly, I make the whole elderly population as reference and analyse the factors which influence the employment of old people.
