| Teacher ability relates with a big scope, including the basic ability of observation competence, speaking ability, organizing & correspond ability, ability of thinking and writing ability as well as including professional competence of teaching plan design, teaching implementation ability, reflective competence, teaching monitoring ability and certain expansion capabilities of life-long learning and teaching research. Being a teaching approach different from class type teaching, individual teaching has been widely promoted and adopted by the training institutions over recent years. Typical examples include XRS, New Oriental, Jiaoda Only and 1st Smart, etc. The existence of big differences between individual teaching and class teaching makes us think what main capability a teacher should maintain in individual teaching. How to improve such capabilities and what is the result when the improvement is used? This text here will focus on the research of this field.The author has initially read plenty of references concerning individual teaching and teacher ability, offering a particular description of the above two concepts. According to practice, the improvement of teacher ability has been mainly limited to a level of teaching plan design, teaching implementation and reflective competence. The author has then consulted numbers of the related educational theories, finding out theories supporting"Individual teaching"and"Teacher ability". Strategies of enhancing such three abilities have been put forward and implementation has been carried out under the model of Jiaoda Only to verify which parts of the raised strategies are effective.
