Promoting School Featured Education At The District Level

The full-scale promotion of quality education has to meet the basic and common requirements;meanwhile,it needs to be closely linked with local political,economic and social development.It should encourage schools to develop their own features in accordance with the particular circumstances.This paper takes those educational innovations in Xuhui primary schools of Shanghai as an example,which explains the necessity,guiding principles,working strategies,effects and experience of the full-scale promotion of school featured education at the district level. It is a very important approach of combining school featured education with overall promotion at the district level,which aims to motivate educational innovations,to uplift the whole level of school administration and to realize equity in education.This paper analyzes the current situation and necessity of developing specialty within primary schools and making it promoted at the district level.It puts forward the core theory of pursuing excellence,the guiding principle of student-oriented education with localized and humanized objectives,and the strategies of planning in advance,developing through projects,designing integrated curricula,trying out cultural elements and taking ensuring measures or follow—ups,for the full—scale promotion of school featured education at the district level.Through the practices and researches,primary schools in Xuhui district shapes the unique school features which complement and support each other,develops the mode of SO—called。"one school one feature"for the overall promotion at the district level,enriches the approaches and learning outcomes of cultivating younger students in primary schools to be good at sports,manners,learning,collaboration and personality,which echoes the objective of primary school education.
