With the development of social and constantly innovation of science and technology, cooperation is required to solve problem together. Cooperation with others is not only a good morality, but also an effective survival strategy; learning to cooperate is becoming a basis requirement for people in new century. As the effect of overall situation change, and essential need and self requirement of teaching career, nurturing a sense of cooperation and participating in cooperation actively are necessary for college teachers. Thus, the research on cooperation behaviors of college teachers is of great realistic significance. Under the direction of some theoretical basis, this research should conduct a deep discussion on cooperation of college teachers in fields as follows: necessity and possibility, current situation, existential problems and their reasons, and proposed improvements. From the perspective of sociology, this thesis theoretically verifies the cooperation behaviors of faculty, using the method of interview, documentary analysis, and analytic induction, on that basis, an empirical research is conducted based on interview.Firstly, the theory of interaction and exchange in sociology are selected as the theoretical basis. In terms of social interaction theory, as a part of social role, college teachers obtain the conception of self role by interaction with"significant others". Only by sincerely communicating with"significant others", teachers can mange self role position well, ascertain self expectation, and develop and adjust self role performance in the effect of other roles'exception and demonstration. In terms of social exchange theory, a faculty not only expects to obtain corresponding rewards by choosing cooperation, but also wishes to maximize profits. All parts involved in cooperation will accept cooperation, as long as it can obtain more profits. Moreover, cooperation can avoid unnecessary profit loss as the result of grim competition, and produce additional income. Then, we select 10 college teachers as representative to conduct deep interview. Interview results show that cooperation behavior is unanimously affirmed by faculty. On that basis, using the theory of interaction and exchange, current situation of cooperation behaviors of them is analyzed based on interview record. From the perspective of interaction, current situation includes: role interaction and communication improvement in teaching cooperation, specialization and relationship building in scientific research cooperation, and"expressive role"playing in social service cooperation. From the perspective of exchange, current situation includes: reciprocity and mutual benefit in teaching cooperation, resource complementarities in scientific research cooperation, and potential income obtaining in social service cooperation. Thereafter, existential problems in interaction and exchange for cooperation of faculty are recognized by further analyzing of interview results, including: lack of interaction between teachers and students in teaching, no observed effect of cooperation encourage by college, and discrepancy of rights, responsibilities and interests in cooperation. Then, reasons of these problems are summarized on the basis of interaction theory and exchange theory: difficulties of switch concept in role building, difference existing in mutual expectation, un-fulfillment of reciprocity principle and justice principle, and affect of comparison level (CL) and comparison level for alternative (CLalt) for cooperation chose. At the end, social strategy to improve cooperation of faculty is proposed. In terms of interaction theory, we propose: 1) recognize self role to improve interaction between teachers and students and 2) utilize"ordinary person methodology"to promote interaction between teachers. In terms of exchange theory, we propose: 3) follow the principle of rationality, reciprocity, and justice to improve cooperation of faculty and 4) quantize comparison level (CL) and comparison level for alternative (CLalt) to make cooperation smooth.
