In 1984, the autonomous region educational department announced that minority students graduating from senior high school must attain "Intercommunication between Han and minority ",and the primary schools must open Chinese courses from the third grade. So a large scale of bilingual teaching has being spread in many primary schools. As is known to us all, the successful implementation of bilingual education needs a number of qualified bilingual teachers. But what is the judgment standard which can decide a bilingual teacher is qualified or not? An important evaluation criteria is the language selection and application ability of the bilingual teachers. At present, there are many theoretical studies about the teaching language, but there are still few empirical researches, especially about bilingual education in Xinjiang. The author investigates and analyses language selection and application of the primary Chinese teachers in Urumqi by means of records in class and interviews after class, and then draws the following conclusion of this study.The study is divided into six parts:Part I: Foreword. In this part, the author analyses the bilingual education and bilingual teachers'present training situation and background, emphasizing that the teachers'teaching language is of great importance to their teaching ability.Part II: Definition. The author makes a distinction among bilingual education, bilingual education and Chinese teaching, Chinese teachers, and teaching language.Part III: Research review. The author summarizes and analyses the previous studies from three aspects: the study of teaching language, the study of bilingual teachers'languages in bilingual education, the study of minority bilingual teachers languages in bilingual education.Part IV: The selection of the study objects and investigation and analysis. By means of the class teaching records, the author makes notes of the real classroom teaching language.Part V: The analysis about the detailed teaching languages.The author finds that Chinese teachers'bilingual teaching languages still have some problems and then gives them some countermeasures and training strategies and methods.Part VI: The whole suggestions towards improving the Chinese teachers'classroom teaching languages.
