In this paper, through the comparison research on Sino-Japanese related swordplay historical material and realistic situation, the writer eventually comes to a conclusion from analysis: the Chinese swordplay pays attention to performing arts, while the Japanese swordplay actually pays attention to combating resists. This is because histories and customs of the two countries are different. So although the cause is the same project, there are still quite different in technology and theory. By means of study we can take advantage of Japanese swordplay for the sake of providing a theoretical basis and practical reference to promote the development of the Chinese swordplay.Chinese swordplay peaks in the performing arts and the pursuit of the ideal state, but lack of actual combating capability. Regarding swords as life ,paying attention to realistic combat results, and possessing the spirit of purchasing resurrection characterized the Japanese swordplay. That is the main difference between the two.There are three main manifestations in learning the advantages of Japanese swordplay to promote that in China. First, we should focus on practical techniques and aesthetics closely. Martial art ought to put fighting art to the mainly place, while body-building, self-defense, competitive skill, performance and self-cultivation to secondary place, to maintain a relative balance between the two. Second, utilize the sword techniques to seek unceasingly-strived spirit and complete sincerity, ultimately to cultivate a noble character. Third, the swordplay learning must emphasize faith and reverence to the gods, therefore the learners can ascent from technique level to Taoism.
