In modern society, with the development of the technology, various media technologies come into being. Radio, books, movies, television, and advertising have become ubiquitous. People are surrounded by a variety of media, and begin to sense: media literacy has the same as traditional reading and writing literacy, which has become basic literacy that people must possess in the information society. In 1982, UNESCO puts forward: we must make young people learn to survive who are in a world full of images, text and sound. Media literacy is an essential quality of choosing, understanding and handling the information that people are faced with, which is the basic quality of middle school students and the extension of listening, speaking, reading, and writing literacy. The purpose of media literacy education of middle school is to have them understand media information correctly, and handle media resources effectively so as to develop their critical ability and discrimination ability, thus make the media resources be used reasonable.Firstly, the paper summarizes the situation and significance of research on media literacy at home and abroad. Then it defines the education meaning and definition of media literacy from the perspective of communication and education and analyzes the necessity and significance of media literacy education. What's more, it focuses on the feasibility of implementing media literacy education in middle school. the writer combine the third paradigm of media literacy education of Len. Masterman——media education into all subjects with media literacy education in middle school, and do practice-oriented research based on students'politics book (senior 1) to explain the ways of developing media literacy education .What's more, the paper illustrates the efficiency of using media literacy education by SPSS. The conclusion is that the model can enhance students' efficiency of politics lesson and the ability of media literacy. I attempt to provide some reference and inspiration for China's application in media literacy education in secondary school through the research on media literacy.
