A Study Of The Urban Adaptation Of The Elderly Migrating To City

With the degree of the ageing deepening gradually, the old's living condition and the existing problems have caused wide public concern in society. As a standard of measuring the elderly's living condition, social adaptation also arouses scholars'great concern. However, the theory of social adaptation is deficiently applied in the study of gerontology in our country. Especially, the elderly migrating to city, which is a special group between city and countryside, have not attract social attention. This thesis takes the theory of social adaptation as visual angle of study and the old migrating to town as study object, and tries to deeply study and explores the social adaptation of the elderly magrating tocity.This thesises analysis the social adaptation of the elderly magrating to city from four aspects: physiological adaptation, psychological adaptation, cultural adaptation and social adaptation. The author investigates the elderly magrating to city through the method of interview, and analyzes their living condition and urban adaptation systematically. And then the author summarizes their problems in urban adaptation,and the author further studies the deep-seated reasons. On these bases, the thesises discuss the strategy and method of improving the elderly's social adaptation level, sensation of domestic happiness, and family stability and harmony, and promoting the construction of harmonious society.
