The Development Of American Preschool Education In The Period Of Progressive Education Movement

Progressive education movement is the first education reform in USA,it had a widespread and profound effect on preschool education,it had gotten a series of changes from less to more,from private to public,and from Germany to Amrican.At the same time ,it had promoted the localizational development of preschool education in Amrica.The vigorous development has laid a firm foundation for the preschool education after World War II.In this paper, it has four chapters: The first chapter describes the theoretical sources of American preschool education in the period of progressive education movement The second chapter introduces the development of American preschool education in the period of progressive education movement.The third chapter analyzes effects which the progressive education movement bring to preschool education,and started with external factors and internal factors.The chapter is divided into five aspects, The formation of the theoretical system ,the new views of family and community,changes in education centers and so on.The fourth chapter summarizes the positive and limited effect on the preschool education which the progressive education movement bringed to,finding the problems arising in the course of localization in our country, so as to promote preschool education in Chinese development from the localizational lessons of preschool education in the United States.
