With the coming of network ages, the information technology, especially the multimedia technology and network technology, have gained rapid development, which also leads to the thriver of network education. Now the learning activity has broke through the restriction of traditional classroom,fence of campus and so on, and individual study has been endowed with new connotations. Meanwhile, the limitation of space and time is removed, and this is how the virtual learning community emerges. Virtual learning community plays an extremely important role in network education for supplying places of learning and communication for teachers and students. However at the same time, some problems still exist.This paper analyses the interaction data from the online form in Lan Zhou University, including the whole online forms and the representative course about"Computer Basis"which has the most post and replies quantity, according to social network analytic method, from the angle of sociology. And the analysis covers the entire structure,network size,community matrix,centrality(point centrality,closeness centrality,structural hole and so on. Based on these, this paper proposes the strategy of constructing virtual learning community in the end.The main problems studied by this paper are as follows:l What kind of virtual community does"the online form of distance education college of Lan Zhou University"belong?l What is the social network structure of it?l What are the factors that promote the student-student, student-teacher and student-media interaction?l What problems does the BBS of Distance Educational College of Lan Zhou University have?l How is the breadth, and depth of interaction in the BBS of Distance Educational College of Lan Zhou University from the angle of sociology?l How to construct a virtual learning community that can be better fit for the teaching and learning of Distancer Educational College of Lan Zhou University After analysis, we find that this virtual community has a certain degree of width and depth, but the structure of it is too loose, which is lack of centrality and coagulability, and also the suggestions that can direct the development of it are lacked. In this paper, we think the conflicts between work and study, learning motivation and the problems existing in the virtual community itself are the main factors that influence the further development of it. In the end, this paper proposes the strategy for constructing the virtual community for Distance Educational College of Lan Zhou University. Firstly, the function should be redefined, focusing on the interface and functions to construct the virtual community. Secondly, promote the current B/S virtual community to one using P2P, enhancing the autonomy of learners.Thirdly, construct the virtual community from the angle of sociology, including the improvement of social networks, more focus on the cultivation of opinion leaders, concerning learner's emotion world and so on. At last, the knowledge management should be enhanced to improve the tacit knowledge communication among members in the virtual community.This paper is constituted of five parts. The first part is the introduction, which mainly presents the background,meaning and contents of this research. The Literature Review lies in the second part, which determines the starting point of the research through studying all kinds of relevant papers. The third part is the core of this paper, which finds the problems existing in the virtual community together with the cause, after analyzing the virtual community of Distance Educational College of Lan Zhou University from the point view of the over-all structure, centrality and structural hole and so on. In the fourth part, this paper proposes the strategy of constructing of the virtual community from the angle of functions, socialnetwork and knowledge management. And in the end, this paper sketches the conclusion, the innovations and also the problems of this study.
