Since there was a school in the world, the relationship between the teachers and the students'parents was widely concerned; especially in this era of great changes, in order to stand up to pressure and challenges, more helps from various sources are needed. As stated in the research of existing, the participation of the students'parents in the educational life in schools affects the improvements and the growth of the students in a positive way. The relationship between the teachers and parents in practice, however, is not satisfactory; especially in rural areas, there is a lack of cooperation as well as effective interaction between them. It will be very helpful to Promote teachers and parents enhance mutual understanding and strengthen cooperation, to improve the effectiveness of school education, to study the current situation of exchanges between teachers and parents in rural primary schools, and analyze the causes affecting exchanges. The study selects a rural primary school from Longxi County of Gansu Province as the study field, using the participant observation and depth interview methods to make field study of exchanges between teachers and parents in rural primary schools. The result shows that both the teachers and parents admit the importance of the exchanges between teachers and parents, but they have no strong wish to exchange. Moreover, the exchanges between teachers and teachers are rare and the contact is not very close. At last, it is difficult to achieve the intended purpose because there is always one-way communication with less two-way exchanges and high arbitrariness. The analysis shows the main reasons causing the situation include the following three. At first, there is deviation between teachers and parents. Second, Parents have utilitarian psychology in the process of the exchanges. At last, they have unequal positions in the exchanges. In view of this, this study suggests that the exchanges between teachers and parents should be based on mutual trust and respect, and they should establish the partnership of mutual learning and mutual cooperation to achieve the real sense of effective exchanges.
