Research On The Support System Of Cooperative Education In American Universities

Since the mid-20th century, because of the shorten transformation cycle of science and technology into products, government authorities from all over the world, requires urgently higher education to provide more required talents and technology to promote the development of economy. Meanwhile, colleges and universities try their best to widen their financing channels for more external supports, particularly seeking for the support from industrial sectors, and change both their professional majors and curriculum structures to fulfill requirements from government authorities and needs from industrial sectors. With the purposes of a preferential market-taken, the industrial sector grabs the opportunity to find its needed support both talents and high-tech research results form the university. Common environment, opportunities and challenges make schools, industrial sectors and government authorities closely linked with each other. Therefore, a much more suitable situation has been given for the cooperative education to survive and then it develops gradually.As the first country promoting the cooperative education in the world, United States has made remarkable achievements and attracts much of the world's attention as well. Chinese academics also has researched a lot of the American cooperative education. Although there are more and more relevant papers and books, literatures involves American cooperative education are not much. A profound researching work of the support system of American cooperative education enable us a better understanding of the influent factors accounting for the rapid development of the cooperative education and some of the experience for the promotion of the cooperation.Based on a perspective of the ecosystem, this article researches the support system of American cooperative education. With a comprehensive and profound analysis, we explore the basic conditions, problems and their causes of the support system of the American cooperative education in its higher education area, and then we summarizes some enlightenments and gives advice to promote and perfect the support system of our cooperative education in the higher education area.
