As a kind of mature written language system, the Chinese teaching materials commenced from the Shang oracle-bone enjoying a long history of 3000 years. This phase of its history runs continously like the Yangtz River or the Yellow River,sometimes singing slowly and chanting gently, sometimes surging. Bathing happily in its clear river, numerous students have been fostered lofty ambitions and formed great talent and bold vision to compete in the world. On its green waves,China has hoisted the sails of its politics,economics and culture,and accumulated the high mountains and thick earth of the Chinese civilization from the ancient to the present. It is a mother river. She has brought up all living things with her great kindheartedness, while she has kept silent, far away from any high official positions and riches, and hidden herself in the classic books. "Under a dumb peach , there are many ways. "Men of insight have been absorbed in her,but the ignorant nave looked down upon her and cast her aside like old shoes. Following the tutor's advice,I've studied hard for three years. At the end of my career of postgraduate,I've written this thesis paper.I lay particular stress on the educational thought of the Chinese teaching materials .which is the kernel,and dwell on them in the following three chapters;Chapter 1 is on the source from Shang oracle-bone to the year of 1903 when Chinese became an independent course, mainly evaluates the process of the source, development, summit and decline of humanism that was the mainstream of all kinds of thought at that time,shows the national characters and the culture inside information deposited after the long history,and highlights the spiritual values and personality sentiments of the teaching materials.Chapter 2 is on the development of the Chinese teaching materials in modern times from 1903 to 1976. This charpter pays more attention to the Chinese discipline textbook system composed by scientism. In this stage,different kinds of schools had come into being from the ancient to the present. in and out of China, from the mailand of China to Taiwan, Hongkong and Macau. But in the democratism,nationalism .socialism or even the Left deviationism can be found some similarities :all of them were utilitarian,advocating to constitute the educational ideals with science,democracy, pursuing perfect and profound knowledge and intelligence, and stressing the rational knowledge and logical analyzing methods but despising humane concern and all-round development.Chapter 3 is a study on the future tendency of the educational thought of the Chinese teaching materials at the contemporary age from 1976 to the 21st century. It focuses on the evaluation of the returning and blending development of humanism and scientism. With Marxist materialism and dialectics,! assert that the future tendency of the thought of the Chinese teaching materials will be based on the merits of both the humanism and scientism, based on avoiding the shortcomings of the two.In the above researches on tracing the source,the development and the tendency,I try my bes; to combine the history with the reality, to consider the educational thought of the Chinese teaching 2materids above the contradication and unity of both humanism and scientism ,to grasp the main trend. However ,1 am still a green hand in this field, maybe there are some points I have not concerned ,1 hope experts and scholars can provide me some advice.
