| Nowadays, competition in the sports world is intensifying. The key is the competition of talented persons not only in quantity but also in quality. The training of talented players has been an important job of developing athletics in each country. Since 1980s, the basketball techniques of our country have been made marked progress and a great breakthrough. The standard of basketball techniques of our country is coming up to the highest standard of the world. Basketball sports of our country have stepped into a golden age of development and improvement of the late more than 100 years. Meanwhile, talented basketball players have been emerged in large numbers and made great achievements for basketball cause of China. The development of basketball connects closely with the growth and success of basketball players. There is no basketball development at all without the growth and success of basketball players. Seeking the laws of talented basketball players has been the issue of people's concern. By systematically studying the growing course of talented basketball players of our country from various angles, deep levels, and as a whole, the factors of becoming successful of the talented basketball players are analyzed; the experiences of their growth are summarized; the laws of becoming successful of the talented basketball players are discussed; enlightenments and references are provided for the training of basketball players. It has significance to the performance of the PROJECT OF WINNING HONOR FOR OUR COUNTRY IN 2008 BEIJING OLYMPIC GAMES and the development of the basketball sports of China.This paper bases on philosophy, psychology, sociology, the study of talented persons, the study of PE talented persons, the study of sports and training and applies the method of documents and materials, interviewing method, investigating method, systematic and scientific method, logical method and mathematic statistic method. The laws of becoming successful of talented basketball players of China are studied systematically through the investigation and analysis of those talented basketball players. The relative importance of the factors of affecting the success of talented basketball players of China is weighed through the investigation of experts.Results show: the ages of starting training of those basketball players range from 10 to 15. The male age of reaching top level is 22.8. The female age is 21. Male players from starting training to top level need 10.6 years. Female playerneed 9.4 years. Male players need 6.3 years for laying foundation and 4.3 years for developing skills. Female players need 4.7 years for laying foundation and 3.6 years for developing skills. These data could be used for reference of forming and replacing national basketball team.During the course of the growing of talented basketball players, common features mainly are: 1. They have lofty motives. 2. They were wide in having been engaged in athletics items in early stage and showed no evident talents in basketball. 3. Most of them were born in a family of physical educators. Good family environment is the condition of becoming successful of talented basketball players. 4. Personal hardworking plays a decisive role in the personal success. 5. The instructions and trust of the coach are dominant. Players could get along well with others. 6. Certificate of the whole is low and remains to be improved.7.It's regional character is obvious.Investigations on the talented basketball players show: There are 115 players altogether who participated all the previous Asian Games, World Championships, Olympic Games; Liberation Army team and Liaoning team have more players be selected from than any other team; Liaoning province has more players be selected from than any other province.
