The western Scientism was based on the Newton classic mechanics, the three big discoveries in the 19th century, the theory of relativity, quantum mechanics and the enormous material wealth in all western countries from the application of science and technique in the 20th century. It is essentially a kind of world view, and also a kind of scientific view, that is: an excessive belief in the think that the world is essentially be constituted by elements of physics and chemical, that the natural scientific knowledge in which physics is the model is the unique valuable knowledge in all human knowledge, that scientific methods described by scientist are the unique methods for the knowledge that can be applied in any condition. It has four characteristics, as below: 1. philosophic characteristics, metaphysic World diagram and usage of the scientific methods in all field; 2.value characteristics, scientific adoration and excluding humanities; 3.cognitive characteristics, an absolute scientific view; 4.functional characteristics, Science is omnipotent. The western Scientism was transmitted to our country from the West at social upheaval of our country. Although Chinese Scientism was theoretically from the West, Chinese traditional idea was filtered. It has four characteristics, as below: 1.philosophic characteristics, "The philosophy is false science." "Science is true philosophy." 2.value characteristics, science is sovereign; 3. functional characteristics, social utilitarianism; 4.cognitive characteristics, the scientific methods are omnipotent. The transmitted western Scientism pounded and broke Chinese conventional educational system as"Keju'. The Scientism caused an educational revolution in China, and forced China to turn our educational idea from "cultivate one's morality and character" to "specialist education", our educational content from inanition and inutility to practicality, our educational manner from closing to open, our pedagogy from nonexistence to existence, our educational study from roughness to fine.
