WIth the explosive growth of modern computer technology, the development of new generation educational mode is in greater demand. Online remote education emerges as a new strategic pathway for public and continuous study in higher education. High-efficient E-learning system becomes more and more important in the evolution from traditional educational mode to networked educational mode. The development of such a system involves multi-media, computer network, web-based database and other technologies. This project combined the fact and features of higher education in medical university, made a unique and valuable approach towards the implement of medical E-learning. Aiming to introduce an Internet-based medical morphology online learning mode, this learning system is applied with B/S(Brower/Server) structure. It is designed in Macromedia Dreamweaver MX with relevant plug-ins(WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get). The system is powered by latest ASP(Active Server Pages) and Microsoft Access database technologies. The MOLS is based on the student's needs as starting point, incorporating multi-disciplinary knowledge as framework, takingadvantage of modern computer technologies such as multimedia courseware, web-based self-test, discuss forum, interactive message board and virtual practice to enable the user to customize his own learning schedule, develop progressive learning strategy and carry out efficient distant learning.
