With the development of computer-aided teaching and online learning, courseware-making system based on network is now playing a more and more important role in language teaching. Compared with traditional classroom teaching, resources in online teaching can be shared to the greatest limit. The challenges facing online teaching now are mainly lack of teaching resources, unclassification of raw teaching materials and under-construction of knowledge database of all subjects. The only way to solve the above problems is to let teachers take part in courseware -making activities, thus make online resource sharing possible. Setting out from the respect of TCSL teacher and the present situation of online teaching, this paper tries to provide a courseware-making system which is based on raw material database and class type stereotype, and is able to generate a courseware suited for TCSL automatically.The first part of the paper is an introduction to the background knowledge and future develop direction of computer-aided teaching, followed by the survey of courseware-making tools, especially online courseware-making system development. The disadvantages of present system and tools require a more sophisticated design.Chapter 2 explains our design in details. Our system is constituted of three parts: teacher module, expert module and manager module. The courseware database is the heart of the whole system. Teacher has the authority to inquire the courseware according to course type, courseware or author, add courseware to the system with stereotype guide, and alter his own courseware which hasn't been verified yet. Expert's jurisdiction is to verify the courseware database, while manager can carry on advanced operations such as deleting a courseware.Chapter 3 brings forward the unique concept of system stereotype. Accommodating the present situation of TCSL, we set up a universal course stereotype consistent with TCSL course standard and practical teaching experience so as to help TCSL teacher use the course-making system more efficiently and more conveniently. Teacher can make an online courseware step by step under the stereotype's navigation menu instructions. In accordance with TCSL aims, principles and methods, our stereotype sets a standard for lesson-preparing and course-making, and caters to individual needs. With the help of label function of the stereotype, one can classify course contents to different levels so that the stratified contents will come out if needed.Chapter 4 discusses the technical part of the system-how to realize all the functions using present web page-making and database technology.This system offers a new thought for online TCSL, provides a platform for TCSL teacher to make online courseware and greatly simplifies courseware-making procedures. It aims at helping TCSL teacher keep pace with the oncoming education information revolution, and become a pioneer in this field.
