The Research And Design Of Streaming Media Courseware Making System Based On Web

Modem distance education is produced as a new kind of educational model with the development of computer network technology and multimedia technology. People can study in anytime and anywhere by the distance education because it breaks the time and space restriction of traditional education. The one core of modern distance education is the making of teching source, and courseware is the principal part of teching source.Now there are many courseware making tools, such as PowerPoint,AuthorwareN FrontPage,Dreamweaver,Flash and ect. Although these tools have many virtues, the courseware made by them have such defects: the resource can' t be sharing;the multimedia information can' t be synchronization exactly; be lack of the supporting of interrelated criterion. Especially they can't be play with narrow bandwidth.Steaming media technology is a rising new technology in recent years, which solute the question that multimedia transport on narrowband. Its most important character is "downloading and playing" . SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) is a kind of XML-based network-multimedia application. Its appearance makes it possible to make synchronized multimedia files released on web in an easy-to-edit way and it has a lot of advantages, for example saving bandwidth and developing easily and so on. This article explains the streaming media techlonogy and SMIL.An intact courseware needs a great deal of teaching material. This paper looks on a multimedia courseware as an intergration of four components: video,audio,words and sallybus and manages them separately.A-new-courseware-made procedure is making the components separately frist and intergrating them afterwards. A courseware is issued by streaming media technology of RealNetworks.This paper includes five parts. Part I illustrates the research background,contents and the question to be soluted. Part II explains the theories and the key technology of this study. Part III analyses the system composition and framework. Part IV designs the important fuction module of the system. Part V brings forward the conclusion.
